Is less than 10 hours notice to the press enough? According to board policy (Meetings 006):
Notice of all special meetings shall be given by publication and posting of notice at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to the time of the meeting...From the e-mail:

Apparently the meeting notice was in the Pike County Dispatch although the announcement of the meeting was not made at the December 4, 2008 re-organization meeting.
The other two new meetings (the audit meeting and the personnel meeting) were announced at the December 4th meeting.
I believe that the email notification problem has been resolved and was an artifact of the retirement of Mrs. Kaden.
I believe that the DVSD School Board can do better, but they seem to have mostly complied with the PA Sushine Act. The board seems to have a continuing problem in setting meting dates.
"Apparently the meeting notice was in the Pike County Dispatch" I wrote that after talking to The Dispatch on Wednesday. When I had time to look through the legal notices in last week's paper I could not find it. I will find out when this notice was published.
The meeting was apparently held just to discuss alleged irregularities with Krise bus use for non-school use and alleged use of DVSD fuel (provided at $1/gal) for non-DVSD use. I had to leave early, but from what I hear there was no hard evidence of recent transgressions. There was a former Krise driver that recollects using DVSD buses without the proper license for non-school use in the period of 2001 to 2003.
