Fourth of July: Friday news roundup

The Gazette, the weekly community journal printed in the Times Herald-Record, printed the STI letter and the response released by Kaitlin Paul of the Pike County Youth Coalition. (There's a followup to that statement posted on the youth coalition's website, by the way.)

The Pike County Courier had a few articles about DV student achievements: the Dingman Delaware Middle School honor roll and DVHS student Evan Fox who won first place at the University of Scranton's Kane Competition in engineering and physics. The Courier also printed a list of local students who made Dean's List at Kutztown University and the University of Scranton, many of whom are DV graduates.

The Pike County Dispatch did not have any articles about the STI issue this week. They did print my letter and the statement from the Pike County Youth Coalition. Unfortunately, the Dispatch's embarrassing web presence doesn't let you see either (or much of anything else).

Happy Fourth of July. The photo is one I took at the National World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. while down that way for Odyssey of the Mind World Finals in May.
