I think the contradiction here is the notion that one cannot assume the role of ‘Director of the Board of Elections’ unless they are absent of any prior political affiliation. My mother, a member of the Republican Party, assumed the role with full knowledge that the decisions made within her position will have to be fair, rational, and in accord with the laws which govern her position. It seems that the individuals opposed to her being in her position, would rather a person who was free of their own political ideas, which, if you cannot already realize is absolutely ludicrous. You will be pressed to find anyone in Pike County, and possibly the United States that does not have any political affiliations or ideas of their own (unless of course they were raised in solitude).
Qualified? My mother has owned and operated three businesses throughout her life, all of which, were successful. Also, prior to assuming the role of director, training was required before any responsibilities fell upon her. Therefore any complaints about the qualifications of my mother can be directed to the individuals responsible for training her.
With this in mind, it seem that the only people being “partisan” are the those who feel that my mother is incapable of being honest on account of her Republican affiliation. Either that, or you are questioning my mothers honesty, integrity, sense of morals and principals, as well as her sense of civic virtue as a woman. Your blatant disrespect towards my mother, whether it is about this SERIOUS issue of spelling and grammar, or your general attitude towards her as a person, gives you a pseudo intellectual air of pompousness that only a mother could love (which became evident when your very own mother visited mine when you returned home “crying” after your visit to the administration building in May).
PS: If you do decide to come visit me at my gym in Scranton, please don’t bring your mother…again.

I really hope there can be a rational, mature exchange of ideas on this Web site. As such, I’ll ignore your unfounded personal attack and inference of violence being done against me and stick to the issue, and hope you would do the same:
I, nor anyone I know of, suggested one has to be free of political ideas or opinions in order to be qualified to hold the post of Director of Elections. But that’s very different from suggesting that a Director perhaps should not have been in a leadership role of an expressly partisan organization, and that’s also very different from suggesting that a Director should not be in the immediate family of a candidate in an election.
When it comes to our elections system, there should never be a real or perceived conflict of interest. The appearance of impropriety was so prevalent in this situation, that people began to question the fairness of the system. Newspapers editorialized on this multiple times. The situation, without even considering the question of competency, was utterly unacceptable. But it was accepted. Why?
I posed the question to our state Attorney General about whether a Director of Elections should administer an election in which his or her spouse is a candidate. He replied it is “common sense” that such a person recuse himself or herself.
But because politics and personal interest were more important than the integrity of our elections and such a situation persisted, common sense did not prevail. In fact, it was flipped on its head when the people who raised these questions were dismissed as trouble-makers with axes to grind rather than citizens with legitimate objections of how THEIR government is being run.
And to think, after all this, a new or unadvertised (either is troubling) position was offered upon Mrs. Goldsack’s resignation is mind-boggling. So too is the question that if the Chief Clerk can also adequately perform the duties of Director of Elections, why were we paying another person in the first place? I must be missing something.
Talk about respect? How about respect to the citizens of Pike County who deserve much more than this.

Brian,you mention that your mother owned and operated three business successful. I know of two business that were not successful.
1 the bakery on 739 across the school folded,she sold day old bread for freshly baked.
2 the beauty parlor she had in Hoboken went bankrupt,vendors were stiffed.
What was the third business?
and allegedly, Robert Goldsack, board president, was not a principal in a Hobokin school, nor a psychologist as reported in previous campaigns. Of course, this can be refuted by presenting the documents showing otherwise. The citizens won't settle for lies any more regardless of who they center on or who promotes them.

The smear campaign that you and your posse have led agaisnt Ms. Goldsack is a complete disgrace. You should be ashamed to have forced a woman who I personally know to be honest and of excellent moral character to resign her position just because (and let's be honest here, boys) you are not particularly fond of her husband. You're "politics" are dirty and soon enough the public will start to see just how dishonest and immoral you are.
Anonymous, I have led no smear campaign, and certainly not in conjunction with Nick. I have never published any opinion against Mrs. Goldsack.
It does raise concern to me that she was the director of elections when her husband was in the election. The same would hold true for anyone in such a situation. There is nothing dirty or political in the notion that the director of elections should not be married to someone running in an election.
As a matter of fact, these boys are the only journalists who dared to pursue the facts and reveal the truth. Now it's time for you and others to realize that poor job performance and hiding the truth just doesn't cut it anymore. The truth is out and more is coming. BTW, what local paper printed the latest letter revealing the state's opinion regarding Krise Bus Company's use of DV gasoline?

What I find absurd is that how both you boys obsess about a bankruptcy from twenty years ago, but find no fault with Jack Fisher not paying his taxes. Ask anyone in the sheriffs department or the county administration office about Jack Fisher, they say he knows how to use the system. Oh yes he did catch up on the most recent taxes only because he was running for the board, but what about the back taxes from the late 90’s? I find it remarkable that he had the chutzpa to announce to the world that he was going through some difficult times and that is the reason why he was behind,
rubbish, he was building a huge house and had investment properties to concern himself about. At the same time he was raising taxes even though he was not paying his own! I guess we should fund his ideas and visions with everyone’s money but his own. How anyone can support someone like this is beyond me. I guess you boys still have a lot to learn and hopefully from the right people.
Yes watch out DV if Fisher is on the loose again.

Anonymous, I have never written or said anything in regards to any alleged bankruptcy of Bob Goldsack's. I also have never written or said anything in regard to my approval or disapproval of Jack Fisher's private tax affairs.
Please, if you find any material out there with my name on it regarding either of these gentlemen and their personal financial troubles, let me know. It may have been authored by an impostor.
Anonymous, Fisher is just one person. The board consists of nine public elected officials, each whose vote counts equally. One person never has had and never will have sole power over the budget at Delaware Valley.
