The Pike County Prothonotary's solicitor said in an e-mail today that advance "unofficial" notice was not given of the outcome of the petition against Bob Goldsack's appearance on the democratic ballot.
According to an e-mail on Tuesday from someone involved with the petition, Pike County Prothonotary, Denise Fitzpatrick, said the petition against Goldsack's name on the ballot was "granted." The Tuesday e-mail said the petition against Patricia Wright's appearance was "denied." The e-mail was received and its information was posted on RB for DV prior to the official decision on the petition by Judge Kameen.
Ronnie Fischer of the law firm of Bugaj/Fischer, the solicitor for the Pike County Prothonotary, said in an e-mail today advance notice was not provided by Fitzpatrick.
"There was ... nothing 'unofficial,'" Fischer said in the e-mail.
"Neither Ms. Fitzpatrick nor any members of her staff gave out any 'unofficial' information," Fischer said in the e-mail. "When asked if an Order had been issued, Ms. Fitzpatrick read from the text of the official Order issued by the Pike County Court indicating that the one petition was granted and the other denied."
"Ms. Fitzpatrick did not email this information to anyone," Fischer said in the e-mail.

It seems the information given out was true - one petition was granted, the other denied.
How it was reported from the "source" and therefore on this blog was false.
Why was it even reported? Did the party grant permission?
It seems sensitive things should be fact-checked, especially since local news outlets have quoted the blog as a source in their equally false articles.
1.) The information was reported in the interest of getting out "true information" in the most timely fashion.
2.) The source did grant permission to report the information.
Just curious, why has Candy Finan been the School Superintendent for hmmm, has it been like 15 years or so. How is this legal? Most school Superintendents are only able to serve for 3-4 years? Does it have anything to do with her giving herself raises and accepting more money to stay in her seat????? Can anyone honestly answer that question?
The superintendent's contract is renewed every (I believe) four years by the school board. Wouldn't you think consistency in (good) leadership is more beneficial than switching every few years? That is how any business operates.
The voting citizens of Pike county need a truly independent Board of Elections. The errors on Mr. Goldsacks petition were not a simple isolated mistake or two. Judge Kameen called them "too numerous and too substantial." The question must be asked, How did the petition ever make it past The Board of Elections review process in the first place? Was it gross negligence? Was it incompetence? Was it something more egregious that may compromise the upcoming elections?
These are the questions that must be posed to The Pike County Commissioners. Forbes, Caridi and Wagner are men who have long served Pike County with honesty and integrity. These substantial and numerous errors by the candidate reflect not only on the the Board of Elections but, if left unchecked, onto the men we all look to for assurance that elections are held with complete transparency and untainted by politics. Many of us await the decision by The Commissioners as to the course of action they intend to take to assure competence and integrity of the process we hold so dear. Democracy!! "
Ryan and Nick you are both great citizens looking out for the better good of our community. I thank you for that. However, one day the bottom will eventually drop out. All the cover-ups that the school board and superintendent have done and the "strong-arming" towards the the teachers and lower administration that goes on in this school disttict to keep everything hush-hush, will eventually come out. I couldn't help but laugh at Mr. Kupilla's childish complaining in his latest bashing of you and Nick. This chum hardly opens his mouth to offer an intelligent opinion unless to regurgitate Mr. Goldsack's backward mumblings. Not all senior citizens are fooled by them. They and the fibbing administrator who pulls their strings will go away someday. A new dawn is coming.
