Ryan Balton
Blog publisher Ryan Balton attended Delaware Valley from kindergarten through 12th grade, graduating in 2007. He is dual majoring in education policy and television production at Syracuse University.

As an old guy now myself, I wouldn't want to start an age war on whose brain is more equipped to reason effectively.
With nine (9) directors there is room on a Pennsylvania school board for diversity. Not everyone needs to bring the same thing to the table.
It is unfortunate that some people value homogeneity over an open discussion of peers with differing perspectives.
Dear Ryan,
Congratulations, you have now been publicly smeared by Taxpayers United. Wear it as a badge of honor, as I have multiple times. When I first was elected they called me the "yuppie", 90's slang for young professional. They even went so far as to rename DV to "Yuppie Valley School District." Smear is an integral part of TU tactics as is half truths, misrepresentations and factless allegations. I hope you will not become dismayed and continue to believe in the integrity of the American democratic process. Your generation will do great things. Your generation will solve our energy dependence crisis. Your generation will preserve the beauty of the natural environment. Your generation will win the war on terror and preserve freedom. Your generation will lift public education to world class status. So hang in there, that symbolic shiner under your eye is proof that you have entered the ring.

The whole school board "thing" is a real adventure in humiliation, Ryan. When I ran several years ago, I was told that "others" were saying that I was CRAZY. You may have an under developed brain, but at least you are not CRAZY. Now I have been involved in many organizations in Pike County and been in and out of hundreds of homes in my work, and to the best of my knowledge, not one other person has called me CRAZY, except for those that I have met through the school board. You have to wonder about that, don't you? Good job, Ryan, you join a long line of well intentioned people who have been smeared by the power of the school board.
The only undeveloped brain belongs to those who believe such drivel
Some would rather stretch the truth, blemish character, and squash dreams rather than accept the fact that an 18 year old with a youthful, intelligent brain may be more in tune with the frequency of a community and more knowledgeable of the realistic needs of an ever changing educational society than those who have devoted much of their lives to trying to achieve this understanding. Time to move on folks. The world is a changing!
