STD presentation coverage, with video

WNEP has a report about last night's STD presentation and Delaware Valley High School, sponsored by the PTSA.

Though it's a typical watered-down broadcast report, it seemed pretty decent. That is, up until the last line, when the reporter makes a remark that part of the problem is that DV is in a rural area and there's "just not enough for kids to do."

Yeah, okay.

you know, not everyone has the money to go to costas, or the physical ability to go on a hike. Living in a rural area does suck. The most exciting thing to happen is a friday night football game.

Even if you do have money for costas or the ability to hike sex is ten times more fun. (Balton wouldn't know) Living in a rural area just gives you more places to park your car and get freaky.

...especially fun when you/your partner gives birth at 16 years old or you contract a disease that's deadly or impossible to get rid of.

Living in a suburban or urban area can suck just as much. The grass isn't always greener on the other side. It is what you make of your life wherever you live that truly matters.

i have recently moved out of the area and i miss having sex every day because that is all we could do it and i hope dv doesnt change im gonna miss the day when you could drive down cummings hill road and catch your friends doing it in the woods not only is it extremely fun and recreational it keeps you in shape and we are a society who is fighting obesity so i think its good for us

i think std's are overrated. like seriously tylenol can cure aids and if your to worried about getting std's and cant sleep take some nyquil. seriously guys std's really stands for secretly trap deer.......and i tell yah deer are fun to trap so therefore std's are fun!

my name is tommy and i dont want to disclose my last name but you would recongnize me if you saw my black jetta and piles of energy drinks. but from what i know about sex (well from what ive heard) it is fun. i thought i was in love once when this girl (my little snaggletooth) grabbed me in an undisclosed location but then she went on to make fun of my virginity so in front of all of you i will say that i will be a virgin forever and me and carroll will continue to fondle numerous apple pies in hopes of finding out what its like

I am disappointed in the immaturity of the post on this blog. I guess everyone is entitled to comment but I would think they might look back on it and regret how immature they sounded. Hopefully these aren't the same individuals that are suffering or will soon suffer from the STI's that were discussed at the meeting. I wouldn't even wish that on them. Get real and be safe.

Hopefully the anonymous and named commenters on this blog have enough sense to use a condom. STI stand for sexually transmitted infections which means lots of pain. How sad to make light of something that can make a woman infertile or can spread so easily and not be a very attractive, much less sensual experience. Grow up, be safe and take care of your body.
