Wal-Mart to help DV stop parking permit evaders

Wal-Mart will now tow cars of students who park in the Wal-Mart parking lot and walk to school, according to this week's Pike County Dispatch. 

In the past, Wal-Mart was not cooperative with the school district, but according to superintendent Dr. Candis Finan, after meeting with the district and discovering how students were using their parking lot to evade the drug testing policy required of student drivers who purchase parking permits through the school, Wal-Mart agreed to tow cars that students leave in their parking lot during the school day.

Delaware Valley maintains a "no walker" policy, because of the campus's location on Route 6 and 209, a dangerous road with no sidewalks, according to school board members.
